Confrontation Calls or Slime Calls.

(Video Transcript:)
Today I want to talk about confrontation calls or slime calls. Now, what are these, what am I referring to by these calls? Well, these are calls that are made by somebody that you likely know. So you receive a call and they are trying to they’re accusing you of something or trying to get you to admit to something. And it is oftentimes, it is not clear at all, that there’s any sort of police involvement. Likely what is happening is a detective or an officer is sitting right next to that person and coaching them through it and has talked about what they need to say, to try and get you to admit to something before the call is made. But it appears to be just a phone call from somebody that you might know, and they are accusing you asking why you did something, asking you, just admit this, whatever the case may be. Now, where are these oftentimes used? In sex crimes, but that certainly doesn’t restrict confrontation or slime calls to only those types of law enforcement investigations.

So, tip of the day, what do you do if you get a call from somebody who is accusing you of something or asking you to admit to something that is obviously a crime or even could be construed as criminal. Oftentimes these calls are out of the blue.

What do you do? Don’t make any admissions whatsoever, any statements that could be used against you. In fact, what you should do is hang up and don’t make any sort of statements to that person whatsoever, because if it is a confrontation call, it’s being recorded by police and it will be used against you by the prosecution almost assuredly. So what do you do? You don’t engage that person on that call whatsoever.
